Inglewood Manor Wedding Entertainment

Angela and Gavin October 2011
 Inglewood Manor

I was sound checking at a wedding when Angela noticed me. She asked me for a business card and then got in touch and ended up booking me to perform at the wedding.

You never know how the weather is going to be in October but what a day of sunshine they had. Really good for the photos.

Angela had asked me to provide the ceremony music for them, which was nice. I got to see the whole day. She chose the three all important songs. She came in to Elbow ‘One day like this’ what a beautiful song! Its quite a long track so really good for those long aisle walks. She had a Westlife track ‘I DO’ for the signing of The registrar, this song is not so well known but perfect for the moment, then we had a little bit of Take That ‘Rule The World’ to walk out to, what a tune!

With the service done and dusted I was free to start setting up for the evening. Normally the DJ or singer would set up in the Ledger room. I personally HATE this, I feel that the room distances me from the rest of the party and it’s hard to get the atmosphere going unless you have loads of guests! So instead I set up in the middle room. Inglewood manor are great and let me just do what I think is best.

The set up looked mint! All the guests commented on how pretty the room looked and I think Angela was pleased. Please see my photos below. Performing in the middle room allowed me to get involved and get the dancefloor going. The audience was a cross between dancers and some who just wanted to listen to the music, either was fine by me.

The night seemed to fly by so fast. Lonestar AMAZED was the first dance. This is quite a popular first dance track but it’s a CLASSIC, always goes down well and I enjoy performing it.

We finished the night off with some cracking chart music and I closed the evening with Hold On by Michael Buble, one of Angela’s requests.

Hope they both have a wonderful time together on their honeymoon and good luck with the future.

Biggest dancer of the night goes to there little daughter, she never moved from the floor…..!

Carden Park Wedding - Matt Johnson Wedding Singer

This was for a couple who I have worked with before – Rebecca and Mark – aka Mr and Mrs Rogers.  The wedding reception was being held at Carden Park Golf Club – I have performed here many times so I know the venue very well.

When I arrived I was shocked – they had so many guests – obviously a very popular couple 127 just to eat in the day!! Their wedding theme was Black and White and the room elegantly dressed accordingly! There was some new star lit celling lights in the room and helped to create a lovely atmosphere. I must say that an LED dancefloor would look amazing a Carden Park because the celling would match.

From the start of the wedding breakfast I knew they would be a lively bunch! Debbie (Rebecca’s mum) was already in the dancing mood!! Ian (Father of the bride) was really enjoying himself and a true natural in his speech! I find a lot of people get very nervous about speaking, the best advice I can always offer is don’t rush and just be honest, looking at google for jokes can be really predictable but Ian avoided this and instead talked about how his daughter met Mark, this was far more interesting and worked well.

The wedding breakfast went really well and everyone seemed to really enjoy themselves – as for the wedding cake!!! I’ve been to so many weddings but never have I seen a cake the size of this one!!! They did have a lot of guests to help eat it though! Rebecca also had a very big dress – true bridal fashion – it looked great!

The night was great, everyone was up dancing all night – a lovely couple and family and I wish them all the very best in their married life.

Coombe Lodge Wedding Venue Somerset

On Saturday my wedding was in Coombe Lodge in Somerset – this was a venue I had never been to before  when we arrived it was such a lovely venue, the bride and groom had just finished their wedding breakfast just in time for us to get the room ready for a great party!!

I had already met the couple as the Groom’s father Paul had arranged for to come and record a backing track in my studio as he was a very keen guitarist, he thought he was recording their last dance of the evening but it was in fact their first dance and was a great surprise when on the night!

The bride and groom were great – the groom’s family loved their music and as for the best man he really enjoyed dancing! We had a great party!  The buffet was Roast Pork and Crackling – my favourite!!

Overall it was a great night and I wish Kay and Colin all the best for the future – thanks for a great night!

Blackpool Tower Wedding - By the Wedding Singer

Hey guys,

Last Friday I was performing at Blackpool Tower for a wedding – I wasn’t exactly sure what to expect but as soon as I arrived I was so excited! The room was amazing! It’s apparently where they film ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ and it definitely has an epic theatre feel!
I never knew it was possible to get married in Blackpool Tower so I was extremely intrigued to how the day would run. The room layout was lovely – very elegant. There was a MASSIVE stage – I also had a sound/lighting engineer so it was a great night for me!
The bride and groom were great – the bride loved dancing and really enjoyed herself, all the guests seemed to enjoy themselves too and we had a great party! Had my photographer with me and she managed to take some great photos of the night which I will post when we have uploaded them!
We arrived early and had a day out in Blackpool which was fun, traditional fish and chips yum yum!! All in all what a great day and night!
